The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) is now looking into the incident and says the force “takes threats against public officials very seriously.”
In a statement posted on her Twitter account, Freeland said “nobody, anywhere, should have to put up with threats and intimidation.”
Freeland is expected to speak about the importance of reliable supply chains after visiting a transport facility in Calgary and meeting with workers.
