A leading expert at Oxford University has said that the government should delay bringing in restrictive measures nationwide to tackle the coronavirus pandemic until the Christmas period. Professor Carl Heneghan, the Director of the Centre for Evidence Based Medicine at Oxford University, said that “there is no evidence right now of what’s called a second wave”, and that the government should consider a second lockdown “in the mid winter when we might run into problems”.
