South China Morning Post published this video item, entitled “Chinese students with Covid-19 take university entrance exam in hospital isolation ward” – below is their description.
China’s annual university entrance exam, known as the gaokao, took place June 7-8, 2021. Two students in Guangzhou were allowed to take the all-important exam in a hospital isolation ward. The Guangzhou Eighth People’s Hospital set up special rooms for the candidates and installed high-definition surveillance cameras for invigilators to monitor the exam from a designated area. Covid-19 prevention measures were also put in place for some 54,900 other students sitting for the test at regular exam centres in the city.
