A mystery cube-like object was spotted and photographed by the Chinese lunar rover on the far side of the moon on December 3, 2021. According to the Chinese space media outlet Our Space, the mysterious object was about 80 metres (262ft) from the robotic lunar rover Yutu 2. China has since launched an investigation into the object, which will take three months to reach. The rover, which is the first spacecraft to explore the far side of the moon, has been operating in the South Pole-Aitken Basin since January 2019.
