Chinese Premier Li Keqiang has held talks via video-link with outgoing German Chancellor Angela Merkel. Li said he appreciated Merkel’s efforts to promote cooperation between China and the European Union. He said relations have been stable and continued to develop because the two sides treat each other equally, manage differences properly and uphold multilateralism. Li said China will continue to open up its market and hopes Germany will continue its positive and pragmatic policy toward China. He said Merkel is welcome to visit China after she leaves office. Merkel said she believes the new German government will value ties with China and continue to strengthen cooperation.
