Foreign Minster Wang Yi says China-Switzerland relations have maintained sound development over the past 71 years. He made the remarks on a phone call with Swiss foreign minister Ignazio Cassis. Wang says the two countries have respected each other, and learned mutual lessons for common improvement. On the phone, Wang pointed out bilateral trade increased by over 70 percent year-on-year, highlighting the role of the China-Switzerland Free Trade Agreement. Cassis says Switzerland congratulates China on its great achievements against COVID-19. He also says Switzerland opposes politicizing sports and that he looks forward to the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics.
