The three Chinese astronauts who spent a record three months on China’s Tiangong space station landed safely in the afternoon of September 17, 2021. Their landmark mission represents a milestone in the country’s ambitious space programme. The China Manned Space Agency (CMSA) said the re-entry capsule carrying the astronauts landed successfully on the designated Dongfeng landing site in northern China’s Inner Mongolia at (1.34 pm Beijing Time). The astronauts, along with their re-entry capsule, will first be transported to Dongfeng Space City at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Centre in the Gobi Desert for medical check-ups and a period of quarantine.
