The UN Security Council held an emergency special session on the escalating Russia-Ukraine crisis on September 27. UN Under-Secretary-General for Political and Peacebuilding Affairs Rosemary DiCarlo and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy participated in the meeting. China’s Ambassador to the United Nations Zhang Jun said during the meeting that isolation and sanctions would only “lead to a dead end.”
