China’s first island base station for the BeiDou Navigation Satellite System was put into operation on the Kaishan Island of east China’s Jiangsu Province on Tuesday. The base station can not only provide high-precision positioning and transmit standard time for the island and the surrounding waters, but also greatly improve the operation capacity of the island micro-grids.
