China’s Shilongba hydropower plant has been operating in Yunnan province for 110 years. It began operations on May 28, 1912, and was the country’s first hydropower plant, marking a nationwide transition to clean energy. Following seven expansions over the past century, the plant now has four workshops, with a total installed capacity of 7,360 kilowatt. In 2018, it was included in the first batch of China’s industrial heritage protection sites by the State Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
