A wounded dolphin stranded and exposed to the burning sun on a reef in the South China Sea was rescued on February 21, 2021, after it was spotted by a maritime police patrol from Sansha City in the Chinese island province of Hainan. Twenty officers and soldiers from the police and coastguard units were summoned to take part in a mission to rescue the animal.
