China urges the U.S. to respect the human rights and dignity of the elderly, attach great importance to their right to life and health, and ensure that they are free from poverty and discrimination, Jiang Duan, minister of the Chinese mission to the United Nations (UN) in Geneva, said during a dialogue with the independent expert on the rights of older persons at the 48th session of the UN Human Rights Council on Monday.
