Trade negotiators from #China and the U.S. are expected to hold formal talks soon to assess the status of their interim trade deal, amid the backdrop of rising tensions. Under the general terms of the deal, which was signed on January 15 and took effect a month later – top-level talks should be held every six months. But Trump shut the door on “Phase 2” trade negotiations with China, saying he does not want to talk to Beijing about trade because of the #coronavirus #pandemic.
