China Media Group (CMG) and the International Olympic Committee (IOC) signed an agreement on a new round of cooperation for the exclusive Olympic broadcast rights in the Chinese mainland and Macao. The new agreement covers two Winter Olympics in 2026 and 2030, two Summer Olympics in 2028 and 2032, as well as all Youth Olympics held before 2032. In addition, the world’s first “4K+ HD Simultaneous Broadcasting” 24-hour TV channel – the CCTV Olympic Channel — will start broadcasting within the year. The digital platform of the new channel will also be launched simultaneously.
