China is escalating its threats against Taiwan, announcing a new round of military drills expected to continue until at least mid-August.
Concerns are rising that China’s increasing aggression toward Taiwan could lead to an invasion. Taiwan’s leader says that while the threat has existed for decades, it is fortifying its defences.
It comes after China suspended dialogue with the U.S. on a range of critical issues, following a recent visit to Taiwan by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
