    China launched its Gaofen-13 satellite into orbit on October 12, 2020, in the latest step for the nation’s High Resolution Earth Observation Satellite programme which was started in 2010. Beijing considers space of great importance to both national security and technological development. China has launched 20 satellites so far and has set a busy schedule for upcoming missions.
