After Canada and some of its allies issued sanctions against Chinese officials over human rights violations against Uyghur Muslims, Beijing is firing back with sanctions of its own.
While no Canadians have seen sanctions issued against them, the country is threatening further action is coming.
But some political experts say the rhetoric being used by China in response to the sanctions is a sign the international pressure is working. Mike Le Couteur reports.
