The Chinese Communist government is firing an almost “daily shot across the bow” of the Australian government, according to 6PR’s Oliver Peterson. The Financial Review is reporting Prime Minister Scott Morrison accused China of “needlessly damaging the relationship with Australia by wrongly assuming his government was doing the bidding of the United States by taking steps to safeguard sovereignty”. Sky News host Peter Gleeson said the Chinese government was “having a crack” after Australia’s strident pursuit of getting to the origins of the coronavirus. “It’s almost becoming a daily shot across the bow from the Chinese Communist government using one of its state-owned media propaganda assets to have another crack at the Australian government and to call us the lapdog of the United States,” Mr Peterson said.
