China says it firmly rejects the politicization of COVID-19 origin tracing but has been and will continue to be an active participant in true scientific tracing activities. Refuting recent criticism that China rejected a WHO proposal for a second phase of the origin probe, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Zhao Lijian pointed out that the plan was unilaterally initiated by the WHO Secretariat and said it has no right to make decisions on its own.
