An explosion in the Chinese northeastern city of Shenyang killed at least three people and injured more than 30 others on October 21, 2021. The blast, which reportedly took place at around 8:20am, is suspected to be linked to a gas leak in a restaurant in the capital of Liaoning province. State media said over 100 firefighters were sent to the scene and residents nearby have been evacuated. An investigation into the cause of the blast is under way.
