China CDC epidemiologist for large-scale testing for high-risk groups

Large-scale nucleic acid tests should be carried out for high-risk groups and communities, such as Dongxihu District in central China’s Wuhan City, while communities not in a similar situation do not need to carry out those tests, said Dr. Wu Zunyou, an epidemiologist from the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). “I don’t think there is going to be a second peak in China. We have gathered experience in curbing the spread of the coronavirus over the past three months. Given our monitoring and treatment experience, we won’t let some sporadic cases become another outbreak,” he said.
