Latin America is facing a fierce resurgence of COVID infections and deaths.
Chile is about to enter the world’s toughest coronavirus lockdown after reaching the highest number of ICU patients since the pandemic began, despite a mass inoculation campaign.
People will receive only two police permits per week to buy food and medicine, and a the entire country will be totally locked down without permits on the weekends.
Venezuela and Uruguay are also tightening regulation.
