Canberra businesses are being urged to give employees paid leave so they can get their COVID-19 vaccination and recover from any side effects.
The call comes as the ACT strives to become the first Australian jurisdiction to reach a 70 per cent vaccination rate.
In his annual State of the Territory address to the Canberra Business Chamber today, Chief Minister Andrew Barr urged the private sector to play a bigger part in encouraging workers to get the COVID-19 vaccine, and said the mass-vaccination program is the ACT’s “single biggest priority”.
