  • ABC News (Australia) published this video item, entitled “Cape York businesses expecting busiest tourist season in 10 years | ABC News” – below is their description.

It is billed as the isolated final frontier of Queensland, but Cape York is expected to be anything but quiet this winter.

This time last year, the region was a veritable ghost town after it was put under a biosecurity declaration to protect its remote communities, which excluded the area from the rest of the state.

The region has just reopened after wet season and tourists have already started to flood in, with many investing in camping equipment in lieu of overseas travel.

After 18 months of downtime, the Cape is back and it is booming.
