Al Jazeera English published this video item, entitled “Cannes Film Festival goes green” – below is their description.
This year, the Cannes Film Festival has gone green. In 2019 alone, more than 22,000 plastic water bottles were handed out during the festival. The long-overdue commitment includes several measures to offset its carbon footprint and to raise awareness on environmental responsibility and action. It also launched a new stand-alone section focusing on climate change.
Al Jazeera’s Natacha Butler met one of its ambassadors, French actor Marion Cotillard, who produced one of the seven films selected.
