This week in Canberra, Muslims will celebrate one of the most important events on the Islamic calendar, the Eid Festival.

However, worshippers in the Molonglo Valley will have to celebrate Eid in a park, because the current facility – a room in the local community centre – only fits 54 people.

Now the community of about 1,000 practising muslims have asked the government to provide land for a mosque.
