    Several Canadian provinces are now preparing to vaccinate Canadian adolescents aged 12 and up, as the country expects to receive 4.5 million vaccine doses this coming week, with the bulk of them coming from Pfizer.

    Manitoba and Alberta are the only ones to offer shots to adolescents, with Saskatchewan and Newfoundland and Labrador starting soon after. And Ontario, Quebec and Nova Scotia promise first doses before the end of the school year.

    Now, Ontario premier Doug Ford is creating vague hope that summer camps could go ahead later this season. But how much of a difference will vaccinating youths make for cutting off COVID-19’s transmission and easing restrictions? Abigail Bimman takes a look.
