Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is expected to make an announcement with Minister of Environment and Climate Change Jonathan Wilkinson, Minister of Infrastructure and Communities Catherine McKenna, and Minister of Canadian Heritage Steven Guilbeault on Friday.

Earlier in October, Trudeau announced his government’s net-zero emissions commitment 2050.

The Canadian Net-zero Emissions Accountability Act, a 2019 campaign promise, was designed to provide accountability and transparency on the government’s goal to reach net-zero emissions.

Trudeau’s climate announcement comes as the Canadian Armed Forces are preparing to conduct a dry-run for the rollout of the newly-approved Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine, set to arrive into the country on Monday.

The prime minister said he had informed the country’s premiers that the federal government would be covering the cost of the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine and the supplies needed to administer it.
