    Pressure is growing on world leaders to back temporarily dropping vaccine patent protections, in order to boost supply around the world.

    Countries like the United States are already pledging support to waive vaccine IP protection to help boost supply. Other leaders, like German Chancellor Angela Merkel, are skeptical and say it could jeopardize vaccine quality. But Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau still remains vague on voicing his government’s support or opposition to the strategy.

    As David Akin reports, Trudeau is facing more pressure to back the patent waivers, even from within his own party.
