Canada’s slowing COVID-19 vaccinations renew calls to give unused doses to other countries

Global News published this video item, entitled “Canada’s slowing COVID-19 vaccinations renew calls to give unused doses to other countries” – below is their description.

Canada is still number one in the world for COVID-19 vaccinations, with over 67 percent of its population now fully vaccinated. But as the country’s vaccination rates begin to plateau, there are concerns about excess doses being wasted as millions more come into the country.

Meanwhile, developing countries like the Philippines, Kenya, Iran and Egypt are still trying to contend with single-digit vaccination rates amidst limited supply.

As Mike Le Couteur reports, there are calls to give Canada’s unused doses to its COVAX commitments.
