Global News published this video item, entitled “Canada’s military ombudsman blasts “vested political interests” impeding office | FULL” – below is their description.
Canada’s military ombudsman Gregory Lick is expected to release a report on the ongoing sexual misconduct crisis in the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF).
Lick, who replaced the former ombudsman Gary Walbourne in November 2018, has previously rejected comments by Defence Minister Harjit Sajjan that his predecessor could have and should have done more to act on a 2018 informal complaint against Gen. Jonathan Vance.
He cited testimony previously given by Walbourne to the national defence committee probing the matter, in which Walbourne said the complainant would not let him share the details of the complaint and wanted assurances it would be taken seriously.
Gen. Jonathan Vance is facing two allegations of inappropriate behaviour. He denies all allegations against him.
