Global News published this video item, entitled “Canada’s job seekers may have upper hand amid labour squeeze” – below is their description.
Whether they’re looking for a change for better quality of life or pay, job seekers in Canada appear to have the upper hand amid the labour shortage seen in the country.
Two of the factors behind the shortage is the lack of immigration to Canada, as well as workers moving on or retiring, creating a labour squeeze that favours job seekers. But recruiters say seekers are also looking at things like flexible work hours and commute, and some say that may be influencing people’s decisions to make the leap into a new job more than just a good paycheque.
As Anne Gaviola reports, if people are setting out to make more money or other benefits you may be better off finding a new job but should be aware of what you’re jumping into.
