The federal government and Quebec have pledged $826.3 million toward connecting nearly 150,000 homes across Quebec to high-speed internet by September 2022.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Quebec Premier François Legault made the announcement on Monday, alongside Minister of Innovation Science and Industry François-Philippe Champagne and the Parliamentary Assistant to the Premier of Quebec (high-speed internet) Gilles Bélanger.
Dubbed Canada-Quebec Operation High Speed, the initiative will see both levels of government partner with internet service providers Cogeco, Bell, Xplornet, Sogetel and Telus.
