Al Jazeera English published this video item, entitled “Can ransomware attacks be stopped? | Inside Story” – below is their description.
Ransomware attacks are becoming a global security threat.
Hackers extort millions of dollars by breaking into computer systems of businesses and critical infrastructure and locking up files.
Many cybercriminal networks are believed to be in Russia, with most of their victims in the U.S.
This prompted U.S. President Joe Biden tell Russia’s leader Vladimir Putin to stop the hackers, otherwise the U.S. may retaliate by attacking ransomware servers.
So what’s needed to stop the cybercriminals?
