Labor is calling on the government to not only scrap the cap on the First Home Loan Deposit Scheme in next week’s Federal Budget, but also make it a permanent policy. The scheme allows first home buyers to obtain a loan for a new or newly built home with a deposit of as little as 5%, with the government guaranteeing up to 15% of the loan.
