7NEWS Australia published this video item, entitled “Calls for more support for small businesses as NSW prepares to emerge from COVID lockdown | 7NEWS” – below is their description.
There are increasing calls for the NSW Government to provide more support for small businesses, as they continue to struggle from the effects of Greater Sydney’s extended COVID-19 lockdown.
Seta from Seta’s Cafe joined Labor leader Chris Minns’ press conference in Campbelltown this morning to highlight some of the issues small businesses have been facing, including the decreased wage support from the government and no rental assistance.
Seta says as a result she’s had to work on her own right through this lockdown, which has been “mentally tough and very challenging”, and has expressed concern about rejecting service to unvaccinated people when some restrictions are lifted next month.
“I have been personally abused by a few people about how on earth I’m not going to let them come in and all my answer was ‘I will have to follow the government rules’ which I got abused for it and I have been called a few names…and for a small business like myself, how are we going to be able to control that?” – Seta – Seta’s Cafe
