Global News published this video item, entitled “California’s Dixie Fire continues to grow into 13th largest wildfire in state history” – below is their description.

The Dixie Fire in California has grown to more than 220,000 acres, making it the 13th largest wildfire in state history, and has destroyed or badly damaged more than 40 structures and forced the evacuation of thousands of people. More than 5,300 firefighters are battling the blaze.

The Dixie Fire is located roughly 250 miles northeast of San Francisco. It started on July 14 and is expected to worsen as weather conditions are not forecast to bring much if any rain to the area and daytime highs are expected to be more than 100F.

Homes continue to remain threatened by the fire and as Carla Bosacki reports, there’s still a fight ahead for those trying to extinguish the flames.
