RT published this video item, entitled “Bystanders rush to help female cop attacked by homeless man” – below is their description.

Several brave bystanders swooped in to save a San Francisco cop who was being attacked by a homeless man.

Previously that day, witnesses had reportedly seen the man vandalizing property and shouting racist slurs in Chinatown. After receiving a warning from police, he refused to leave the area and attacked the Asian-American officer when approached again several hours later.

Surveillance video shows the moment the cop orders him to face away from her and put his hands on his head. At first, he complies, but then he turns around and pummels her to the ground, putting her in his ‘deathtrap’, as one witness describes it.

Thankfully, passersby quickly intervened, followed by police called to the scene.

The officer was injured and transported to the local hospital, but her injuries were non-life threatening.

According to KGO-TV, the man had allegedly claimed the day before that he ‘specializes in killing Asian people.’ Police have not said whether the attack is being investigated as a hate crime
