Burmese Australians worried aid will not reach needy, but ASEAN is the “only open door” | The World

ABC News (Australia) published this video item, entitled “Burmese Australians worried aid will not reach needy, but ASEAN is the “only open door” | The World” – below is their description.

Burmese Australians and their supporters are petitioning the federal government not to send five million dollars in aid through ASEAN, saying the money won’t reach those in need. But many say aid through ASEAN’s AHA Centre is the only “open door” we have to the isolated country. Meanwhile, anti-government protests are still taking place there, months after the military seized power in a coup. And a wave of coronavirus is now gripping the country, plunging it further into a humanitarian crisis. Jordyn Butler reports.
