The major weather system pounding Sydney and its surrounds is causing multiple emergencies with a fleet of tug boats working to rescue a bulk carrier that lost power in monster waves off the Royal National Park.

As the east coast low dumps more heavy rain 32,000 people are under flood evacuation orders or warnings. With Warragamba Dam now spilling the equivalent of a Sydney Harbour’s worth of water a day.
