The family of victim Ruth Whitfield with civil rights activist and attorney Benjamin Crump are expected to hold a news conference on Monday following the Buffalo, N.Y. mass shooting on Saturday.

The shooting at the Tops supermarket left 10 people dead and injured three others. Out of the 13 victims, 11 were Black and two were white while the shooter is white, police said on Saturday.

According to the police, the suspect Payton Gendron had driven to the city heavily armed with an intent to target Black residents, posting a manifesto about his plan, and livestreaming the assault. The 18-year-old white male suspect is now in custody and has been charged with 1st-degree murder.
