Bloomberg Quicktake: Now published this video item, entitled “Bronx Fire Death Toll Revised to 17, NYC Mayor Adams Says” – below is their description.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams said the city is investigating the Bronx apartment building where a fire Sunday killed 17 people, including nine children, in the city’s deadliest fire in three decades.

Adams said there is no initial reason to believe the 19-story building didn’t comply with city fire codes but that he was waiting for a thorough investigation by fire marshals.

“It appears the landlord was operating the building accordingly but a thorough investigation will determine that,” Adams said on CNN Monday. He gave a revised death toll of 17 after officials had initially put the figure at 19.
