For the past three weeks a string of gymnasts has told ITV News about alleged mistreatment at the hands of coaches, and how they believe their complaints weren’t taken seriously.
Tonight two former employees of the sport’s governing body allege Chief Executive Jane Allen has to answer for a culture of fear, and claim that investigations into abuse were delayed or not taken seriously.
One said allegations fell on “deaf ears”.
The other felt her only choice was to resign; and in tears said she felt she’d let athletes down.
Another gymnast reveals how it took years for her complaints of physical mistreatment to be acted upon.
The ITV News investigation has already prompted an independent investigation into British Gymnastics – which denies these latest claims – that put further pressure on the Head of the organisation.
Here’s our Sports Editor Steve Scott with his special report.
