British Airways faces strike threat over ‘fire-and-rehire’ plan

British Airways has been warned that staff could go on strike over a “fire-and-rehire” plan that affects around 30,000 workers.

Cabin crew and support staff have until 31 July to sign contracts with cuts to pay if they want to keep their jobs.

BA said the changes are needed to compete with low-cost airlines and avoid mass redundancies.
