    Major disruption has been reported on large parts of the UK’s rail network.

    London North Eastern Railway told passengers on Saturday “please do not travel” after services were delayed or cancelled “due to a problem under investigation”.

    Great Western Railway also reported “network wide disruption to services today” as some of its Intercity Express Trains were being withdrawn for “precautionary checks”.
