BREAKING: Dominic Cummings full statement: ‘The rules allowed me to exercise my judgement’

The PM’s chief adviser Dominic Cummings said he behaved ‘reasonably and legally’ and offered no apology in a public statement.

He gave a detailed account of his trips to and from Durham, denying some accusations that he was there after the 13th of April.

Mr Cummings said he did not tell Boris Johnson about his decision to travel more than 200 miles to his parents’ home in Durham in March.
