BREAKING: Dawn Butler: ‘The Met Police is institutionally racist’

A Labour MP has called on the Metropolitan Police to end “racial profiling” after she and her black friend were stopped while driving in Hackney.

Dawn Butler said the “conspiracy theories” about the incident on Twitter show “the lengths people will go” to excuse racism.

Police admitted entering the car’s license plate incorrectly and wrongly believing the car had been registered in Yorkshire – an example of the “assumptions” made by officers when they see black people driving cars.

  1. I was stopped by the staffordshire police the other morning on my way to work both officers approached my vehicle and asked me a number of questions my name, my insurance company and my address i gave them my details and they wished me a niece day I did not get agitated and questioned them for stopping me and it did not ruin my day That why we pay the police to protect us all from criminality,
