Cricket World Cup hero Ben Stokes will take an indefinite break from the sport with immediate effect to prioritise his mental wellbeing, the England and Wales Cricket Board has confirmed.

The 30-year-old all-rounder will play no part in the forthcoming Test series against India. The ECB say they “fully support” the decision and ‘will continue to help him during this period away from the game’.
