A massive shake-up in European football: Twelve top clubs from Spain, Italy and England have announced the formation of a breakaway “Super League”. The new midweek competition will be independent of European football’s governing body, UEFA. But Germany’s top clubs, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund, won’t be joining. Dortmund have released a statement saying they and Bayern reject the “Super League”, preferring instead to reform UEFA’s existing Champions League.
