Brazil’s President Jair Bolsonaro has led a motorbike procession through Rio de Janeiro to show he still has the support of the people.

That is despite facing increasing political pressure and a probe investigating the government’s handling of the coronavirus pandemic.

Thousands of supporters lined the streets, ignoring advice on social distancing, while some came out to protest against his downplaying the coronavirus pandemic from the start.

Al Jazeera’s Monica Yanakiew reports from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
